§ 5. GENERAL PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS OF CODE

  • Whenever this Code or in any ordinance of the city an act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, or wherever is such Code or ordinance the doing of an act is required or the failure to do any act is declared to be unlawful, and no specific penalty is provided therefor, the violation of any such provision of this Code or any such ordinance shall be punished by fines as established in Article 4.14 of the Code of Criminal Procedure & Section 29.003 of the Government Code as follows:

    (1)

    Maximum fine—$2000.00 for violations of regulations that govern fire safety, zoning or public health and sanitation, including dumping of refuse.

    (2)

    Maximum Fine—$500.00 for violations of other provisions of this Code or other city ordinance.
