§ 2. INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE

    INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODES, 2012 EDITION, ADOPTED

    A certain document, one (1) copy of which is on file in the office of the City Secretary, of the City of Santa Fe, being marked and designated as the International Building Code, 2012 Edition, including Appendix Chapters A "EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS", C "AGRICULTURAL BUILDINGS", E "SUPPLEMENTARY ACCESSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS", F "RODENT PROOFING", G "FLOOD RESISTENT CONSTRUCTION", H "SIGNS", I "PATIO COVERS", and J "GRADING", as published by the International Code Council, Inc., be and is hereby adopted as the Building Code of the City of Santa Fe, in the State of Texas; for regulating and governing the conditions and maintenance of all property, buildings and structures; by providing the standards for supplied utilities and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use; and the condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy and use and the demolition of such structures as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefore; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Building Code on file in the office of the City of Santa Fe are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this chapter, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in Subsection B of this section.

    B.

    REVISIONS

    The following sections are hereby revised:

    Section 101.1 Insert as Name of Jurisdiction: "City of Santa Fe, Texas"

    Section 112 Amend by deletion of paragraph 112.3, QUALIFICATIONS and by adding the following: "Appeals to the interpretations of this section shall be administered according to Section 1, GENERAL, (F) APPEALS, herein."

    Section 903 Amend paragraph 903.2.1.3, Group A-3 to provide the following exception:

    Exception: Bonafide 501C-3 (Non-Profit) activities are exempt from installing an automatic sprinkler system where there exists an inadequate public water system to support the required automatic sprinkler system; or where no adequate on-site storm water detention/capacity capable of supporting the required automatic sprinkler system exists; or where no adequate containerized water storage system is available to support the required automatic sprinkler system.

    Section 1612.3 Insert as NAME OF JURISDICTION: "City of Santa Fe, Galveston County, Texas"

    Section 1612.3 Insert as DATE OF ISSUANCE: "April 8, 1971, revised 1983"

    Section 3409.2 Insert as DATE OF ORIGINAL CODE: "October 9, 1980"

    C.

    CONFLICTS

    Where the provisions of other Sections of these Building Regulations shall conflict with the International Building Code, the more restrictive shall prevail.

    D.

    FEES

    Fees shall be as determined by resolution of the Santa Fe City Council.

    E.

    PENALTIES

    Any person, firm, or corporation who fails to comply with, or violates, any part of this section shall be subject to the penalties pursuant to Section 1 GENERAL (G) PENALTY, herein.
