§ 3.06. ELIGIBILITY:

  •   Eligibility to file. Each candidate for an elective City office shall meet the qualifications as prescribed by the Texas Election Code with the following exceptions:

    (a)

    Shall be a registered voter of the city.

    (b)

    Shall have resided continuously for at least twelve (12) months preceding the election within the corporate limits of the City, including territory annexed prior to the filing deadline.

    (c)

    Shall be at least 21 years of age.

    (d)

    No candidate may file more than one office or position number per election.

    (e)

    No employee of the City shall hold an elected City office. He shall be granted a leave of absence by the City Council, without pay, at the time of filing for office, until after the election.
