§ 3. INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE

    INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE ADOPTED

    A certain document, one (1) copy of which is on file in the office of the City Secretary of the City of Santa Fe, being marked and designated as the International Residential Code, 2012 Edition, including Appendix Chapters: Appendix E, "MANUFACTURED HOUSING USED AS DWELLINGS", Appendix G, "SWIMMING POOLS, SPAS AND HOT TUBS", Appendix H, "PATIO COVERS", Appendix J, "EXISTING BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES", and Appendix K, "SOUND TRANSMISSION" Appendix L, "INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE ELECTRICAL PROVISIONS/NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE CROSS REFERENCE", as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted as the Residential Code for the City of Santa Fe, in the State of Texas, for regulating and governing the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement, repair, equipment, location, removal and demolition of detached one- and two-family dwellings and multiple single-family dwellings (townhouses) not more than three (3) stories in height with separate means of egress as herein provided; providing for issuance of permits and the collection of fees therefore; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Residential Code on file in the office of the City of Santa Fe are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this chapter, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in Subsection B of this section.

    B.

    REVISIONS

    The following sections are hereby revised:

    Section R101.1 Insert as NAME OF JURISDICTION: "The City of Santa Fe, Galveston County, Texas".

    Section R112.3 Amend by adding the following: "Appeals to the interpretations of this section shall be administered according to Section 1, GENERAL, (F) APPEALS, herein."

    Section R309.5 Fire Sprinklers for private garages shall be deleted in its entirety.

    Section R312.2 Window Fall Protection shall be deleted in its entirety

    Section P2603.5.1 Insert: "2 inches" (septic tanks) and "6 inches" (building sewers).

    C.

    CONFLICTS

    Where the provisions of other Sections of these Building Regulations shall conflict with the International Residential Code, the more restrictive shall prevail.

    D.

    FEES

    Fees shall be as determined by resolution of the Santa Fe City Council.

    E.

    PENALTIES

    Any person, firm, or corporation who fails to comply with, or violates, any part of this section shall be subject to the penalties pursuant to Section 1 GENERAL (G) PENALTY, herein.
